In this class I lead participants in a virtual journey to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the late 1950s thought the late 60s. It was a time of great transformations in the country and its society. Web see and hear how a small group of young musicians forged a new sound that took the world by storm, leaving an important legacy that continues today.
We’ll meet composers and interpreters who were responsible for the “new sound”, explore their world and how their music shaped the world at large.
Featuring the music of Johnny Alf, Antonio Carlos Jobim, João Gilberto, Nara Leão, Vinicius de Moraes, Roberto Menescal, Ronaldo Bôscoli, Marcos Valle, Edu Lobo, Carlos Lyra, Sylvia Telles and many more.
