A deep listen into the life and work of two of the greatest musical voices of 20th century Brazil: Noel Rosa (1910-1937) and Alfredo da Rocha Vianna, best known as Pixinguinha (1897-1973). Each one of those two composers created a unique heritage that continues to influence several generations of musicians today. In the Zoom sessions, Jovino will share biographical details of each composer, placing them in the historical and social contexts of their times, and will show how their influence continues to inspire contemporary musicians. As usual, each session will involve lots of listening, musical analysis, looking at scores and inspired discussions about the life and work of these masters. Jovino offers these classes in a clear and accessible language, so that all music lovers may benefit from the experience.
