  • World Music Brazil Scores, parts and a CD -5  pieces in the Brazilian styles of choro, samba, coco, maracatu and valsa. Each piece is arranged for 2 melodic instruments (including concert and Bb transpositions), piano, bass and percussion. 2 pieces were composed by Jovino, and the other 3 are based on popular folkloric music from different regions of Brazil. A companion CD is included in the book, and each song is featured with and without the main melody instrument. Besides the complete scores, there are individual parts for each instrument, including concert and Bb transposed parts for the melodies. The musicians on the CD are members of Jovino's acclaimed Quinteto. Jovino also wrote an introduction describing each one of the featured styles. Click here for more details.
